playing with gouache, trying to get a feel for it. The colors can get muddy so fast. Just some random tentacle haired guy for the test. I think I went over board on the lighting. I think I'll just use white chalk on it's own next time, and probably not ink it. A fun experiment either way. I learned a lot.

Gouache is a tricky medium, but works well once you get the hang of it. Check out wetcanvas.com in the "gouache" section for some really cool artists and conversations about using gouache paints.
