Cat Dragon Commish

Commission for a good friend of mine who has also been incredibly patient. I was asked to make a sphinx cat dragon. It was a really fun challenge. So many wrinkles <3 tons of fun to draw.

Survival Horror

A quick concept/speed paint thingie. Friend Fran wanted to a theme art trade, and she gave me the prompt “Survival Horror”. The colors are ala my survival horror game concept, and I used Dahlia as my little person. :P

When I think of survival horror, I think of man vs the unknown. And how when we’re placed in an unfamiliar setting, everything seems hostile.

Game concept

 This semester I'm taking game design and theory, and I've decided to make a survival horror game set on the Oregon Trail. Up top is the base figure for my soon to be character sheet, and below is a rough sketch of the protagonist, Dahlia, along with one of the creatures in the game. It has fingers for teeth! I'll post the final sketch of the ref sheet as well as the final draft of it as they're finished.

School work and hands

 

The first page of my new sketchbook for digital drawing class. Nicole you have weird fingers. Though I don't think I did much better at drawing them. 

IT'S A HAND FORREST. My gross hands and fingers in all of these. Tried over lapping hands, using colors to push them back in space. Don't think it worked so hot. But it was fun.

 

And lastly, concept sketches for my Japanese Tsukumogami, which are possessed objects that come to life after 100 years. They're the main characters for a comic I'm going to be doing in sequential. One's a sandal, and the other is a lantern.

Demon Possessed

A roughly hashed out concept with some quick colors to see if I liked them. I didn't even bother to erase the pencil before coloring. 

The idea is that there's a type of warlockish people who delve into the occult, and learn how to willingly let demons possess them, but still keep enough control of their bodies to use the demons more as tools for a job. When they let this happen, they take on the physical traits of the demons inhabiting them, so they change shape. So the person on the left is their normal appearance, and the one on the right would be the same person possessed.

It should be fun the play with the idea more when I get the time. I'm always up for drawing monsters.

sketches and finished work

I was at a friend's house, and drew their boxer dog. Such huge jowls! And moar shoes!


My friend Sarah drawing as well. I forgot the very first page in the first sketchbook because I'm so used to only drawing on one side in my regular sketchbook. x_x So this one isn't too elaborate, but I like it. It was a challenging angle to draw.


This is the front cover of my second sketchbook for Concept drawing class. It was so bright red, I couldn't think of what else to draw. I wish it was more symmetrical. Here's to trying to finish another 100 page sketchbook by the end of the semester! I'm going to try!


A C project done in my concept drawing class. Done from sketch to finish in a bit over two hours. The prompt was to draw this box, and whatever we wanted to be inside of it. And when let to wander, my brain likes to come up with monsters. So these poor guys are critters from Pandora's box placed back in the wrong container, and horribly afraid for their well being.


Finally, something I did to unwind. I've been starting to drag as the semester draws to a close, so being able to just doodle something without worrying about things like anatomy or composition was nice. I intend to transfer this to some watercolor paper and pick at it here and there when I have the time as a de-stresser. I'm very fond of it. :3
